Development of the place was always connected with mineral water springs, which are Donat, Styria and Tempel. These were mentioned in the written sources already in the Middle Ages. A major role in the development of tourism had the Count Ferdinand Attems, who was the founder of the spa. The main buildings in the classical style were made in the 19th century.
