Rogaska Slatina is a famous spa town, which is located in the east of Slovenia, on the border with Croatia. It is one of the oldest and most important tourist destinations in Slovenia. Development of the place was always connected with mineral water springs, which are Donat, Styria and Tempel. These were mentioned in the written sources already in the Middle Ages. A major role in the development of tourism had the Count Ferdinand Attems, who was the founder of the spa. The main buildings in the classical style were made in the 19th century. Near the spa complex is on a small hill located a neoromanesque church of saint Ana, which was renovated by the plans of the famous architect Plecnik. In the warmer months is the centre of the happening the Zdraviliski square, where are taking place various events, which attracts many foreign and local visitors. Beside the spa is Rogaska Slatina also known by the glass industry. In the nearness of the town we can visit the cactus collection, the Junez home and many other.
